After breakfast, by tu-tuk, your tour begins with a visit to the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Center, only recently opened, to help you better understand the tribal peoples of Northern Laos, then visit to the most photographed temple, WAT XIENGTHONG, before continuing on to the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum.
Next you visit Wat Mai, a temple renowned for its golden bas-relief. During Pimai, the Lao New Year, the Prabang, (normally housed in the Royal Palace Museum), is brought and put on public display in Wat Mai. Enjoy your own lunch along the Mekong River with the spectacular sight of green forests and villages on other sides of Mekong River.
In the afternoon continue the tour by bike to the outskirt of Luang Prabang, to Ban Ann, a low land village set along the Nam Khan River. This village will be your home tonight, at the headman’s house, in typical Laos comfort. Keep in touch with the locals while here and don´t be too shy to practice your Lao language skills and to make conversations with the children, or hang around with them along the riverbank. If you wish to take a boat and swim at the waterfall then we are flexible to provide transport.
