Day 1 : Arrival Luang Prabang

On your arrival to Luang Prabang international airport, after immigration procedures, meet your guide outside the main gate and transfer to your overnight hotel accommodation.

If you are arrive on an afternoon flight, enjoy your time walking, for personal discoveries, on the peninsula formed by the confluence of Khan and Mekong Rivers, where many interesting sites are located, surrounded by green forests and mountains.

Day 2 : Luang Prabang - UNESCO sightseeing - Biking to Ban Ann

After breakfast, by tu-tuk, your tour begins with a visit to the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Center, only recently opened, to help you better understand the tribal peoples of Northern Laos, then visit to the most photographed temple, WAT XIENGTHONG, before continuing on  to the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum.

Next you visit Wat Mai, a temple renowned for its golden bas-relief. During Pimai, the Lao New Year, the Prabang, (normally housed in the Royal Palace Museum), is brought and put on public display in Wat Mai. Enjoy your own lunch along the Mekong River with the spectacular sight of green forests and villages on other sides of Mekong River.

In the afternoon continue the tour by bike to the outskirt of Luang Prabang, to Ban Ann, a low land village set along the Nam Khan River. This village will be your home tonight, at the headman’s house, in typical Laos comfort.   Keep in touch with the locals while here and don´t be too shy to practice your Lao language skills and to make conversations with the children, or hang around with them along the riverbank. If you wish to take a boat and swim at the waterfall then we are flexible to provide transport.

Day 3 : Ban Ann – Tad Sae waterfall – trekking – elephant camp – Home stay Ban Xienglom

Say good bye to headman and villages then take a short long tail boat on the Nam Khan River to Tad Sae waterfall. The falls cascade over many calcified tiers and down several hundred feet into a series of cool, turquoise pools. The water here has a clear blue-green tint due to the high mineral content. Your private breakfast will be served in front of waterfall, and after begin trekking approximately 3-4 hours into deep jungles, the trek  will be end at an elephant village. Stop and visit Asian elephants in the wild jungle, and the house of a Mahout, who looks after the elephants. This afternoon we will arrived at Ban Xienglom for second night home-stay, at a headman’s house.

Day 4 : Ban Xienglom – elephant experience – Kayaking – Luang Prabang

This morning we will meet the protected Asian Elephants, and learn about these amazing massive animals. A 30 minute elephant ride on the back of elephants at the Elephant Village will take you into the countryside and across the river. Spend your time and relax at the camp, with unique scenery of this area of natural beauty. In the afternoon you will begin the final highlight of this active tour - a kayaking excursion down the Nam Khan River. The river is easy to paddle and offers only a few grade 1-2 rapids. The countryside on our kayaking trip is rather dense with banana and teak trees, rice paddies, and terraced pineapple plantations on display. Pass a handful of isolated Lao Loum and Theung Villages, we will arrive back in Luang Prabang by kayak sometime in the afternoon.

Day 5 : Luang Prabang – Departure

Enjoy some free time before your driver takes you to the airport for your onward flight
